About The Susquehanna Alpaca Group
The Susquehanna Alpaca Group, LLC was incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania on November 3rd, 2006. The mission of the group is to provide educational opportunities to the alpaca community, promote the sale of alpaca fiber, products made from alpaca and the sale of alpacas. In addition, we offer consulting and support services to the alpaca community. We always strive to conduct ourselves in an ethical and socially responsible manner. Mentor Bio

Your mentor, Jeff Carleton, has been a full-time alpaca owner and breeder since 1997. He offers advanced experience in all aspects of the alpaca industry. This experience comes with time tested tempering and a foundational belief that no one person or group ever has all the answers. What Jeff does offer is an experienced hand of guidance to develop your own success story using a mentorship strategy. He looks forward to meeting and working with you one on one. Entry Level Mentorship Programs

Highlights: Custom designed mentorship program for alpaca owners’ with less than 1 year of experience or individuals ready to purchase their first alpaca. All activities are hands on with your mentor on 2 operating alpaca farms. Time requirements: 1 day

An alpaca owner of less than 1 year or an individual close to purchasing their first alpaca
A desire to improve the proficiency of ownership and management of alpacas
A commitment to 1 day of hands on activities
A belief that learning never ends but is a life- long process

Advanced Level Mentorship Programs

Highlights: Custom designed mentorship program for alpaca owners’ with over 1 year of experience. Participant should have defined content areas of concern that need to be strengthened. For example: Strengthen your understanding and proficiency in performing selective breeding. All activities are hands on with a 1 on 1 learning ratio. Time Requirement: 3 days

An alpaca owner of greater than 1 year of ownership
A desire to achieve advanced proficiency of ownership and management of alpacas
A commitment to 3 days of hands on activities
An ability to open up to ideas and processes you may not currently support
Defined areas of concern that need to be strengthened
An ability to work in an one on one learning environment
